Coming back to SCS for Combined Arms Term after 3 monthsBOS - http://www.mediafire.com/?17w7b266j32g6d5 CSM OATH - http://www.mediafire.com/?sd9uim1oz1524c0Started my CAT on 13 March. Basically Wed - Fri I did nothing but sharing on different vocationsNext week 22 March will be the Specialist Cadet Course Graduation Parade and I will be getting my SERGEANT rank... but till then, rehearsals and more rehearsals.
Finally got my sergeant rank.. Its was really not easy because of the SCGP... Whole week we had to keep rehearsing here and there under the HOT SUN. Its was good effort, though i don't see the point of it.Today(1 April) is the day i enjoy because of the off-in-lieu. A day that had been taken away from us during the live firing on the 23rd of February. Finally i have a fresh idea of how a typical weekday would feel.. This weekend on the Saturday, there will be a family engagement day where I will show my parents around the camp and get to try the different stuff that we handle most of the time. Soon, 9 OR 10 April I will be going to Germany to have our Operation Panzerstrike, looking forward to the cold weather (sweatless days? maybe).
Some Pictures~
Met my Viper Mates Minus after the SCGP..

Posted to 41 SAR (070513) gonna take some recruits soon but before that, UIP for the commanders...
17 May 2013 - Officially failed to be a marksman 20/24 5/8 11/16 (36/48) 39 to be marksman
9 August 2013 - National Day and my COS duty day.
15 August 2013 - BMT intake for Falcon and Shrike Company.
Today im writing this entry on 21 August 2013, which is dj's birthday. I have also lost 3 people on this day, Jonathan Ooi, Tang Si Wai and Wang Yong Quan who have ORDed and gotten their pink IC. Now our bunk seems so empty and quiet without them. 28 would be my bookout day cause i have 2 offs. The others will have a normal first bookout on the 30th that is, with the recruits.
15th to 30th August was the most horrible days of my life. Why? My phone got bricked for 2 times. First time was recovered because my mum helped brought my lappy to camp. Now i stopped jailbreaking my phone for the time being until a stable one surfaces. Another unfortunate event was my off being truncated from friday to monday because of the parade rehearsal i had to go for the 8 brigade changing of command (COC)
1 September will be my first AHM 21km, mights die trying..
*Update: Completed 21km in 2:34:11. Well done me
Proof? No problem, its below
*Update 191013 - I'm going to Wallaby! Although the job scope is rather grey, as safety and op force? 251013 leaving at 1120 and coming back on the 161113 at 0655. Nevermind the job i do there, more sweatless days ahead for me! Yay!
Something interesting about the preparation for the trip - On the 161013 we had this kit bag inspection where the army hired australian inspectors to check our kit bag for any leaves, mud and dust. They are rather strict about bringing foreign plants into their country, like a zombie invasion. There was one lady wearing the vest and guess what it wrote? BIOSECURITY, interesting huh? Bag were chosen at random, like 10% of the lot, so 12 bags were chosen. However, if one of the bags chosen is any of the above, everyone's bag will have to be checked. Luckily that didn't happen, but i was confident mine was able to pass.
Another more interesting thing is that the random bag i was holding is being checked. The australian inspector checked the shoes first.
I started a conversation like this shoes costs 42.08, just bought mine yesterday. Then she moved on to the boots and they asked if the boots were comfortable, took out the insoles and they were rather dusty and told me to brush it off. Luckily i started a conversation before they checked the boots, or else they might not be so forgiving :) so that was a close call. Then after the inspection, i had some problem squeezing the stuff back into the duffel bag, even the inspector had to help me with it. The bag wasn't packed properly. The person will have a hard time taking things out. Hehe. Well, wish me luck for my time in australia!!
*Update 131113 -
Got back from Australia, Rockhampton to be precise. The place was rather huge.
Seeing the fast food signs saying 25km to the nearest hungry jack fast food restaurant will make u feel like an ant!!
Ok, so we guys were there for just safety and to observe what they were doing for the Exercise Wallaby. Basically its just like a 4 days 3 nights Company Mission Exercise followed by a 2 day live firing shoot and then ending it off with a battalion live firing. Weather there was hot and dry. What this means is that you can feel your body burn up but not a single sweat is produced. Good memories, had fun. But its in the past now. Hope i won't forget this experience forever. Pictures says a million words
*Update 280314
Beeen ages. alright so... on 250314 Tuesday, we had our combat shoot, equivalent to ATP but at the MMRC at PLC! However, i failed to be a marksman again... Day 15/20, Night 12/20 and INAD 7. had to get a tean score of 38 but we had an average score of 33... My day shoot was a let down because i had 4 rounds left after the shoot because the safety thought my magazine was EMPTY.. like a WHUT?!?! wasted, night was terrible..but i can't blame anyone for it. INAD was the best.
*Update 230514
ORD Parade! Yes. time to end this once and for all. So in the morning we had turn ops parade where its a parade to declare us operationally ready and in times of war, we will be activated... like finally. In the evening at around 1900, the parade started. As usualy, we had the parade entry where we did like saluting and stuffs with the rifles, colour flag comes in, CO inspecting the parade, CO speech. But the only new thing is the farewell march. The idea is interesting and its the first time i'm doing. Then we had the music and drama company performing a few songs. Then we had the parade reentry to end it all. The cool thing is that the parade rehearsal took only 1 day, but many times so i guess its only fair. If only parade rehearsal was like once and thats all. Well, there is always a catch. It is not over yet. We still had to go back to camp to handover vehicles and stuff. Sucks right? But its only 1 week. What is easy is not memorable and what is memorable is not easy. ORD-ing on 30 May 2014! HURRAH!

So it was 29 of may.. I sneaked home because there wasnt anything for us to do. Went emart to exhaust all of my emart creds. Got myself a new beret and crest D some admin pants. Bought 4 admins tees so that our plat comds can print on the tshirts. Can you believe it, it costs $62. So happy i decided to sneak out of camp and not go back on 300514.
Guess this is going to be my end of the journey as an NSF. Should i write a new post for the day i start my reservice? Sigh.. 10 years to go. For now relax and enjoy before my Uni life starts!
So i have ORDed!
