EXPO ASIA PACIFIC FOOD FAIR (21Nov2009 Sat)

Hi Too, here's to share with u what happened when u were cramming for your mid-year exam.

Mom, Jape and me went to EXPO for the Food Fair. We sort of detoured a little. We went to get cheap branded tees (Mom actually got 2 for $14). Then we went to the MPH sale where we saw BaoRu and QiongHui. Their family wanted to go to the food fair too. Just happened to see the book sale. I was crazy and got 2 travel books (Seoul and Bangkok), novels (Digital Fortress and Confessions of a Shopoholic), a good read (Nature vs Nuture) and a little silly Simpsons book for u. Er, I'll not get those next time. I sort of promised myself. I guess it was a habit that stuck. I will repent. Hahaa..

Finally we got to the FOOD FAIR. Mom headed straight to order the soy milk powder by the cartons. We had the impression they have delivery. Somehow this pretty woman comes over and says we have to carry it back ourselves. Sheesh. Anyway, not to worry, cos we have muscles on our side (Jape and my DFR can rise to the occasion, I mean, raise the load).

We took quite a bit of silly photos.

I wonder if this kid with the swollen bald head (like a chemo-patient, oh gosh) happens to be the mascot of Meidi-ya the Japanese supermarket found at Clarke Quay's Liang Court.

Next we saw Dad's Satay stall (yikes! Wrong spelling again.. This joins Rasi Roma and 水鬼.. hahaa)

I simply loved the compact washing machine. Good to get for me as a Christmas/Birthday present (HINT HINT!!!) aiyah.. kidding only. I can't fit my clothes into it!!

This one is hilarious even Jape cannot contain himself. Aunties having a ball of their time with head massager. Go figure. Maybe they are too overworked and underpaid. This is their way of relieving stress of the everyday life.

I love this shot too. Our very own "dao-ni" boy has found his pot of gold. Except it's dairy milk. Nevertheless, it's a HUGMONGOUS carton and I think that can just enough fill his tum.

Last but not least, a pictorial evidence of the transportation of the soy milk powder Mom purchased. Jape was still spinning around like a top and jumping here and there. Ok ok. I'm seriously lagging behind and to pass the time, I just took photos. As usual. Mom! Wait up!
We went home TIRED but HAPPY!!

Nothing to do

Had to wait 3 and the half hours on every thursday because of the bowling training at 6pm.. lasting 2 hours >< everything is fun except for the long hours waiting. HY KH and me played audi while brandon and ben played diablo 2. LJS had to struggle with the Adobe photoshop graphics error. Didn't enjoyed myself though, HY keep snatching my playing time DANG! and played 188 bpm songs with kh.. not few photos though, enjoy..
<---- KH in awe when HY wins him
ME finally lvled up to 20 grats grats ... TSK!

Liverpool triumphs over Manchester United yet again (25Oct2009)

There was tension in the air at the dinner table. We had dinner at Ichiban Boshi at Plaza Singapura. The upcoming weekend was the showdown between Liverpool and ManU. I was stressed sitting beside a couple where the guy was displaying his loyal support for ManU. Flames were fuming from Gavin's temple. Oh the horror! Plus I infuriated him by taking a shot of him and him.

However, in light of the wonderful match outcome, I decided to publish this post. I also had a ball of a time doing the Adobe Photoshop for this million-dollar image. I'll make an effort to edit my photos from now on. That way I can practise my artistic skills...

Victory~ Oh, Sweet victory~

Attended Colleague's Brother's Wedding

Hi hi hi!!! I was invited to a wedding which involved people somewhat distantly related to me. The bridegroom W is my colleague JJ's second elder brother. I think my other colleague Y knows the bride A better (JJ and A practise Japanese with Y). We've all been to JJ's house and got acquainted with her family. So I guess the goodwill just overflowed and spilled over. Thus we were included in the guestlist to W and A's big event.

The wedding dinner banquet served good food. Loved it. We moved on to Harry's Bar at Esplanade then to 24h Starbucks at Raffles Shopping Centre. Reached home at 4am. That's my record! Wow!

Here's a photo of the lunch gang. From left back row, DT, S, Y and me. Front from the left is JJ's mother, JJ and L.

Attacked by BAH-SAH aka Bed Bugs in GV

Hi all, I can't lose to Jape. He's been posting way beyond his usual rate. I must buck up!

Just an update here. I have been ravaged (attacked brutally) by bed bugs. Okay, it's not a first for me so I am not panicking. I am calm, I am relaxed, I am damn itching at ground zero. Which reminds me. I'll be buying Calamine lotion tonight to soothe the itchy-witchy-scratchy-scratchy.

I remember my first encounter with those tiny bloodsuckers. It all breed-gan (try pronouncing it as 'began') with an innocent bamboo seat mat on the lizard-dropping-full black leather couch (hahaa - Too's nightmare). It was MY spot in the living room. And I was the entire bed bug clan's sole B+ blood provider. I fed them all. They survived, bred and flourished for generations under my butt. Instead of showing a tinge of gratitude, their bites left massive itching and horrible brown discolored patches on my thigh-behinds. Nobody knew of the infestation. The final straw came. I told Mom I was severely bitten on the thigh-behinds. Initially Mom thought it was just a bought of mosquito bites. Then being ever the brain in the family, she did a little 'Sherlock Holmes' on her own and traced the source of my troubles. According to her, the BahSah colony was found in the crevices (little holes and cracks) in the bamboo seat mat. Oh the horror! She threw the mat away stat (immediately). Actually she did ponder to sun the mat for 7, 7, 49 days to exterminate the bugs. But maybe she figured it was too cumbersome (troublesome). Throw. Throw. Throw. Save the couch. Horror continued for Too. Guffaws.

Ayioh. Why am I writing so much? A picture paints a thousand words...

Okay maybe I'm exaggerating on my minor misfortune. It's just a small patch. But it itches so much and the patch is so warm to the touch. Ya, serious infection. Darn the saliva of the bed bugs.

And before I forget, I caught the bed bugs at Vivocity's Golden Village Cinema Hall 10 Seats G12 and 13. Harty-har-har. It's not my personal hygiene this time round. Darn. No wonder I didn't find the movie "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" that entertaining. Golden Village is a great disappointment. Now my fear is whether I have brought home souvenirs. Bed Bug Eggs. HELP!! Only time will tell... (fear) (scratch) (shivers) (worry some more) (scratch)

Oh, I found this blog related to bed bugs: http://bedbugger.com/photos-of-bed-bugs-and-signs-of-bed-bugs/ For your reading pleasures.

预告: Dj will be posting her trip in Korea. STAY TUNED FOLKS

World Culture Night 2008

Remember the time DJ went to borrow a korean hanbok?

Here's me and some colleagues in our rented costumes.

That's Y on the left and L on the right.

I guess the most hilarious get-up had to be SK. Kudos to him for assembling the look himself!

Tiger Brewery Trip 24 Apr 2009

I like ice-cold Tiger and Jazz's Long Island Tea. However, do let me state that this was a company-organised event. Cos my work has got to do with using micro-organisms, observing the fermentation process and production of a useful substance of commercial value. So there was this outing to learn from other commercial industries. Tiger Brewery. Cheers!

Cupcake Frenzy for Charity 17 Aug 2009

Hi folks, remember the muffin baking at home the last time?

Well, DJ happily volunteered to bake cupcakes for the charity bazaar at her work place. So started the muffin frenzy. Previously, DJ hurt her back so she missed the baking training session at a colleague's house. Mom has never baked a muffin in her 50 odd years. Worrying signs showing. However, DJ's all confident telling mom it's easy cos the online videos look simple. Besides we have the recipe. How difficult can it get? Mom did a trial run on her own 2 weeks before and baked a batch of wonderful choc buns. Yeah! Mom's a perfectionist, I guess.

So the charity date draws near. On a fine and sunny Sunday, DJ and mom started the oily and messy muffin production line. The following Monday, the cupcakes were brought to the office to be decorated by my other colleagues. Here're photos from the sales.

This was the stall front. A close look at the goods.

It's tough to get sales done just standing at the booth.

So we had mobile booths on their dainty prowl. They attracted eyeballs and greatly boosted sales! Ok, maybe some were coercing (=forcing) people to buy. Thanks hunks! Looking gorgeous!

Self-proclaimed Bowling Queen in Funny Action

Hi all,

My company organised a sports day bowling event at SAFRA @ Mount Faber on 25 Sep 2009.

We were placed in groups of 5 or 6 and after a round of warm-up, it was game on mode for us.

It was really interesting cos I realised both GT and me were the same-foot-same-arm style. Got to work on the pose!! SO UGLY!! oh well, this beats the butt-jutting..

It was a good round of 3 games per person. The scores were tallied and, lo and behold, I came in 7th with a total score of 274 (98/102/74). GT had a total score of 360 (105/124/131). That's position 11. Impressive. But more impressive was the last game in which he played on his own.

At the end of the day, we were, or at least I was, tired but happy.
